How can i get my wireless modem to reallow my xbox to connect to it?

my dad this morning, (think i was a foreign invader stealing our wifi.) disconnected our wireless modem and now my xbox can find the signal. however it sees that our wireless has full bars. its just not allowed. how can i fix this? also i have tried checking cables and resetting my modem. so im pretty sure that's not it.
